Douglas Wiele, President and Founding Partner

Douglas Wiele is the Founding Partner and President of Foothill Partners, Inc. His is a 40-year history of retail and mixed use property development and leasing.

Doug began his career in retail leasing, during which time he undertook his first fee development efforts. In 1986 he helped found Whitney Development Co., which developed grocery anchored properties around Northern California into the early 1990s. Out of Whitney grew Foothill. On a select basis Doug provides third party consulting services on retail property development projects; the consulting portfolio has included projects across the United States and in Southeast Asia.

Doug Wiele has a long history of volunteer leadership with the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is Past Chair of the Board of Directors of California Business Properties Association. He is a Governor's appointee to the California Commission on Disability Access, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Commission. He is a regular guest lecturer at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and at the University of San Francisco School of Law. He speaks for such diverse organizations as the ICSC, the Urban Land Institute, the Pacific Coast Builders Conference, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the California Preservation Foundation and the California State Bar.

A fourth-generation and life-long Northern Californian, Doug Wiele is a 1976 graduate of the Real Estate and Urban Economics program at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and was a featured Cal alumnus in the Summer 2011 Cal Business Magazine.

Rob Cord, Development Partner

Rob Cord is a 35 year commercial real estate professional. He is a manager of people and places, with the goal of creating spaces which enrich the quality of our lives. Rob’s success is derived from the energy he places in the people with whom he works and the projects he manages and develops. Competing to achieve results beyond one’s reasonable expectation is always his goal. 

 

From large national institutional assignments to working with local investors and family offices, Rob’s work is focused on submarkets and communities, while the Foothill Partners brand resonates with those who will be the beneficiaries of the project. His defining characteristic is the candid representation of the truth and diligence in service delivery. These fundamental qualities protect his clients from risk and stress while providing the returns they seek.


Rob has been a senior managing director with CBRE, Kennedy Wilson, Cassidy Turley and Voit Real Estate. He is the Managing Member of AREAS a full service commercial real estate asset and property management boutique with a practice that serves clients strategically from New England to the West Coast.


Rob’s philanthropic work includes leadership positions within the American Cancer Society, International Council of Shopping Centers, the Building Owners and Managers Association, the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties and the California Business Properties Association.

Nettie Oliverio, Arts and Culture Director

With a 35-year career in IT and 40 years of creating and supporting Arts and Culture, and cultural place making in Nevada, Nettie Oliverio was the perfect addition to the City of Reno's Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board in 2012, as the city began to reinvent itself; growth of the tech industry would create a diversified economy, and a strengthened arts industry would stimulate tourism and local economic investment.

 

She chaired the Reno Arts and Culture Commission and Public Art Committee and continues to chair the regional Reno Arts Consortium, working with community and economic development leaders to strengthen northern Nevada's core economic base.

​

In 2019 Nettie joined Foothill Partners as Arts and Culture Director in the creation of the Reno Public Market, a project which interweaves arts, culture, commerce and community in the company's trademark development style.

​

Nettie is the recipient of a lifetime achievement award from EDAWN, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, for her innovation and stewardship of the Arts in Nevada.
